failing wood screws in construction phase

Wetting or drying of timber during the construction phase can cause (structural) issues. In this experimental research, one specific structural issue is considered: the breaking of wood screws when connecting steel plates to CLT. The breaking was possibly / probably induced by shrinkage or swelling of timber. Test samples of screws, steel plates and CLT are subjected to different wetting and drying cycli, in order to find and explain failure modes.
